The bed bath not only helps keep the patient clean but also: - Maintains healthy skin by providing stimulation and increasing circulation - Provides the patient with mild exercise - Provides an opportunity for close observation of any skin condition The time spent giving a bed bath is ideal for assessing the condition of the patient's skin, interacting with the patient and providing important emotional support.
