STATEMENT OF NEED Studies show that 1 in 3 individuals over the age of 65 will fall each year, and the consequences of these falls can be serious, with an estimated 23,000 older adults dying each year as a result of their falls. To ensure the safety of the residents they care for, nurses and other healthcare professionals need to know the components and goals of comprehensive fall prevention program.
